ACC
Getting ACC assessment and treatment is top of mind when you have an accident. The first step to getting ACC cover of fees is an injury assessment. We can establish if your Accident Claim is applicable to get ACC treatment.

Get your injury assessed for ACC medical treatment
Any accident can be overwhelming, but fortunately, paying for it needn’t be. In NZ, we’re lucky to have ACC to help cover medical fees. This includes injuries in the workplace, at home or out and about. First, however, we’ll need to check through the details to properly assess your injury and ensure you are eligible for ACC treatment and medical fee support.
Getting started is easy:
- Come to East Care Urgent Care for an initial ACC assessment of your injury. First, we’ll get your condition stable. And then we’ll work through the paperwork.
- Together we can fill out the ACC Claim form. Moreover, this claim will be used for any ongoing treatment.
- Remember, we are open 7 am – 11 pm every day of the year. So don’t hesitate to come and see us.
- In the case of an emergency or significant accident, call 111.
How much does an ACC Assessment cost at East Care?
Did you know that all children 1 – 13 years old get free ACC assessments? Medical fees differ for different age groups and if you have a Community Services Card, you’ll get a discount. Remember, East Care is a privately funded clinic so fees do apply.

Type of accidents and injuries ACC can cover for treatment
Injuries come in all shapes and sizes.
But the most common types we see from accidents include:
- Sprains
- Strains
- Fractures
- Cuts and lacerations
- Bruising and swelling from falls or knocks
- Attacks, sexual or domestic violence
- Workplace injuries may have developed over some time, including RSI or hearing conditions.
These conditions will need proper Urgent Care assessment regardless of ACC coverage. But you will likely get help from ACC if you are an NZ resident.
Remember, to qualify for ACC cover, your injury must be due to an accident.
